The presentation session of the U.Porto Alumni Little Books collection - Architecture, Art and Utopia, published by U.Porto Press and scopio Editions, will take place on June 26, at 18h00, at Casa Comum - Reitoria da U.Porto.

The round-table will be opened by Fátima Vieira (Vice-Rector of U. Porto - Culture, Museums and U. Porto Press), followed by a presentation of the collection by Pedro Leão Neto (FAUP) and interventions by the editors: José Carneiro (FBAUP/i2ADS); Mário Mesquita (FAUP; FBAUP/i2ADS); Olívia Pestana (FLUP/CITCEM) and José Maria Lopes (FAUP/CEAU; FBAUP/i2ADS).

The session will be attended by the first alumni of the University of Porto published in the U.Porto Alumni Little Books collection of the series Architecture, Art and Utopia, namely Chloé Darmon, Diana Aires Senra, Pedro Gonçalves de Barros and Raquel Lagoa.

The round table and debate that will follow aims to create a publishing space capable of giving visibility to the research developed by former students of the University of Porto in the scope of their master's degree dissertations.

About the U.Porto Alumni Little Books collection

The U.PortoAlumni Little Books- Architecture, Art and Utopia collection is an initiative of the research group Architecture, Art and Image of the Architecture and Urbanism Study Center (CEAU) of the FAUP, with the joint coordination of the Faculties of Architecture, Fine Arts and Letters of the U.Porto. It has the double seal of the U. Porto Press and scopio Editions.

The scientific committee is composed by CEAU/FAUP, CETAPS/FLUP/FCSHUNL, CITCEM/FLUP and FBAUP/i2ADS, and the editorial coordination integrates a permanent member of the Faculties of Architecture, Letters and Fine Arts of U.Porto, responsible for the annual selection of guest editors.

The collection aims at publishing pocket books from the works of students of the Organic Units of the U.Porto selected by the quality of their dissertation and proximity to the areas of Architecture, Art and Utopia.

The first 'small books' are from FAUP finalist students and soon new publications from FLUP and FBAUP students will be launched. The books are available in the various libraries of the U.Porto, having digital formats as the privileged means of dissemination, and are the motto for the realization of different initiatives such as lectures and debates around the themes developed.
