"Novo/Antigo: Escola do Porto" Colloquium
Colloquium 'New/Old: Oporto School' is part of the FCT Project 'Atlas of the Heritage Project: Contributions from the Oporto School' (EXPL/ART-DAQ/1551/2021), coordinated by Teresa Cunha Ferreira and Rui Fernandes Póvoas, underway at CEAU/FAUP.
The colloquium aims to discuss and disseminate practices of intervention in the built environment developed by architects graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Porto (ESBAP), in which a pedagogical legacy for the professional practice of architects is recognized.
The program includes the presentation of design practices by Martin Boesch, Alexandre Alves Costa and Sergio Fernandez (Atelier 15), Pedro Ramalho, Adalberto Dias, João Mendes Ribeiro and Eduardo Souto de Moura.
The research project and the e-book 'Atlas of the Heritage Project: Contributions from the School of Porto', edited by Teresa Cunha Ferreira, David Ordoñez-Castañon and Rui Fernandes Póvoas, will also be presented. It proposes a renewed look at practices of intervention in the built, through a critical narrative of the process of project and work (before, during and after the intervention).
The Colloquium is also part of the UNESCO Chair "Heritage, Cities and Landscapes. Sustainable Management, Conservation, Planning and Design" and is supported by Banco Santander and Pretensa.
