Abstract
Faced with a global scenario of recent accentuation of climate change, the preservation of existing architecture against waste has become a priority. Conservation and maintenance plans are fundamental instruments for the planning of activities that ensure, in an integrated way, conditions of use and qualification of existing buildings over time.
This proposal aims to research and implement contemporary strategies of good conservation practices, with the introduction of renewed dynamics of integration with teaching and university extension. Also promoting greater exchange between Brazilian reality and recent international trends, this proposal fosters the creation of a collaboration network between Brazil and Portugal, namely between the LabLugares group of FAU-UFRJ and the UNESCO Chair "Heritage, Cities and Landscapes. Sustainable Management, Conservation, Planning and Design" based at FAUP.
Through the creation of a prototype of field activities, workshops and discussions promoted within the pedagogical practices of the design studio, it is intended to develop a Conservation and Maintenance Plan with a participatory, integrated and sustainable approach, to boost the recognition and safeguarding of the architectural heritage.
