Under the QREN funded project “MDFachada MDCobertura. Painéis de cortiça para fachadas e coberturas sustentáveis e personalizadas”, Amorim Cork Insulation hired DFL/FAUP to explore CAD/CAM technologies and develop innovative processes and applications for curstomized cork building panels. The project encompassed multiple tasks, including creating cork prototypes for engineering analysis, conceptualizing a novel assortment of digitally designed and manufactured customized facade panels, and assisting in the establishment of digital fabrication facilities at the Amorim Isolamentos factory in Vendas Novas.
