Professor Álvaro Domingues appointed to the Lisbon Academy of Sciences Nomination

Geographer and FAUP professor Álvaro Domingues has been elected a Full Member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, as part of the Class of Letters, 8th Section - Geography and Spatial Planning.
Since 2021, Álvaro Domingues has been a Corresponding Member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, and has now become a Full Member - a distinction that recognizes the relevance and consistency of his academic and scientific career in the fields of Human Geography, Landscape, Urbanism and Urban Policies.
Established in 1779, the Lisbon Academy of Sciences is Portugal's oldest and most prestigious scientific academy. Its mission is to promote scientific research, contribute to the production and dissemination of knowledge, as well as to the development of science, culture and knowledge in Portugal. Its objectives also include the promotion of critical thinking, literature and the Portuguese language, as well as the study of the history of Portugal and its relations with other peoples.
