Workshop 'Fernando Távora, o desenho e o desígnio'
Távora 100
Workshop 'Fernando Távora, o desenho e o desígnio' Távora 100
Applications until May 30, 2024
As part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fernando Távora, the School of Architecture, Art and Design is organizing the Workshop 'Fernando Távora, drawing and design', which will take place from July 1 to 5, with the collaboration and participation of professors and students from the three architecture schools associated with the Programme - FAUP, EAAD and Darq-FCTUC.
The workshop aims to produce a 'Wall Atlas' based on the following themes: drawing and design / drawing and theory / drawing and external references. In this way, variants of drawing are present, which are not always easy to compartmentalize, in terms of design action, the construction/communication of theoretical thought or research.
The Wall Atlas, in its narrative freedom, cross-referencing and hypertext reading, will condense the reflection and inquiry generated throughout the workshop, considering the action of architect Fernando Távora, as well as the wider context in which the author operates. The 'Wall Atlas' (which will occupy the space of EAAD's Atelier rooms) will be photographically recorded and disseminated in open access digital format.
The program will be based on a series of conferences, visits, work sessions, discussion sessions and plenary presentations. Students will be organized into mixed groups according to their background and year of study.
