On May 17, at 2:30 p.m., the fourth session of the TALKS series will be held, organized by the Thesis Project Seminar course, study option A - Design of Living Space and Forms of Dwelling.
The fourth guest will be the architect Carlotta Torricelli, who has a doctorate from Iuav, with a thesis entitled 'Classicismo di Frontiera. Sigurd Lewerentz and the Cappella della Resurrezione'.
The session is aimed at students on the PDA doctoral course at FAUP.
Carlotta Torricelli, a PhD architect, is Associate Professor of Architectural and Urban Composition at Roma Tre University - Department of Architecture. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Curricular Council of Architectural Composition of the School of Doctoral Studies of the Iuav - University of Venice. She graduated from Politecnico di Milano in 2006 with a thesis on the city of Porto, where she studied at FAUP in 2002-03 and 2005. Since 2011, she has a PhD in Architectural Composition from Iuav - School of Doctoral Studies at the University of Venice. In 2012, she received a scholarship from the Italian Institute of Culture 'C.M. Lerici' in Stockholm. From 2011 to 2023, she taught Architectural and Urban Composition as an Adjunct Professor at the AUIC School of the Politecnico di Milano. Since 2006, she has been working as an architect, participating in competitions and with projects highlighted by critics. She currently teaches and regularly participates in international congresses and seminars. She is the author of articles and essays, contributing to architectural series and international magazines. His research focuses on the poetics of the 'other modernity' and the tension between theme, figuration and place. His publications include the monograph 'Classicism on the Frontier. Sigurd Lewerentz e la Cappella della Resurrezione' (Padova: Il Poligrafo 2014) and the volume 'Ricostruzione Inventario Progetto', edited together with Gundula Rakowitz (Padova: Il Poligrafo 2018). In 2021, she translated into Italian and edited Fernando Távora's book 'Da Organização do Espaço' (Milan: nottetempo 2021); in May 2023, she curated and organized the conference at the Politecnico di Milano: 'TÁVORA 100. In continuità. Pensiero e opera', with Martina Landsberger, Angelo Lorenzi, Stefano Perego.
