On May 21, at 6:30 p.m., FAUP will host the conference 'Inhabiting the still-waters of Santa Gilla. Ideas for a new lagoon metropolis in Cagliari' by Adriano Dessì, architect and professor at the University of Cagliari, as part of the NEB goes South cycle.
Adriano Dessì is an architect and professor of design at the University of Cagliari. A researcher in the field of Landscape Architecture, he is the coordinator of the International Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Cagliari. He holds a PhD in Architecture and a Master's Degree in the Recovery and Restoration of Modern Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Author of landscape and architectural projects, including the project “Urban Regeneration and Safety of Metropolitan Suburbs and Provincial Capitals for the city of Carbonia, funded by the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Government (2016) and the River and Urban Parks project for the same Municipality.Author of publications on topics such as those related to historical and contemporary landscape, reuse and urban and architectural preservation, such as 'Le città dell Campagna. Il paesaggio rurale nel progetto urbano' (Milan, 2020); 'Habitat sustentável. In the Utopia of Competition' (Malaga, 2018); 'Materie dell'Architettura' (Syracuse, 2020) and 'Neometropolitan Landscapes. Research and Architectural Design for the City of Sestu' (Siracusa, 2020). He recently edited 'Territori dell'Architettura. Continuità e fragilità nel progetto contemporaneo' with Giovanni Battista Cocco. He regularly presents national and international seminars and conferences. Winner of 4 Europan Competition awards in Italy, France, Portugal and Austria and two Landscape Awards in Sardinia. Appointed member of the group of expert evaluators (GEV) for the research quality of project teachers chosen by the Italian Ministry for Universities and Research for the period 2020-2025.
