Enrico Molteni Exchange Talks

On Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m., a lecture by architect Enrico Molteni will take place at the Fernando Távora Auditorium, FAUP.

Enrico Molteni (1969) was born in Mariano Comense, Italy, and is an architect and professor. He graduated from the Politecnico di Milano and Arkitektskolen Aarhus (Denmark) and received his doctorate from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya with a thesis entitled Álvaro Siza: Private Houses 1954-2004. His relationship with Portuguese architecture is also associated with Alcino Soutinho, namely through the New Town Hall in Seregno competition (1st prize, 1999). He worked with Elias Torres in Barcelona. He began his career in Milan in 1997, first as “liverani-molteni architetti” and then as “Enrico Molteni Architecture.” His practice, with projects in Italy, South Korea, and Thailand, has been published in magazines and books, internationally awarded, and widely exhibited. He has lectured and taught at various schools, particularly at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture from 2008 to 2016. He is currently a professor at the Università degli Studi di Genova. In addition to his professional and academic activities, he contributes to various books and publications as the author of critical essays, particularly on the work of Álvaro Siza, and as a member of the editorial board of Casabella magazine for over 10 years.

This fourth conference follows on from the ‘Exchange Talks’ seminar held at the Milan Polytechnic (Aula Castigliano) on December 9 and 16, 2024, with the recognition of the Ordine degli Architetti, Pianificatori, Paesaggisti e Conservatori della Provincia di Milano (Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects, and Conservators of the Province of Milan) and as part of the research project 'Milan-Porto Exchange: Consonance of traditions and common challenges', developed under the NEST2024 program (DABC Polimi).

The session will be opened by Helder Casal Ribeiro (FAUP-CEAU and Visiting Researcher Nest2024 Polimi).
