Argumentos 2: em convergência Book launch with the presence of the author, Manuel José Pureza and Pedro Levi Bismarck
12th February 2025, 6.30pm, Marques da Silva Foundation
The book ‘Argumentos 2: em convergência’, by Alexandre Alves Costa, professor emeritus at FAUP, published by the Marques da Silva Foundation (FIMS) and U.Porto Press, will be presented on Wednesday 12th February at 6.30pm at the Marques da Silva Foundation, in the presence of the author, Manuel José Pureza and Pedro Levi Bismarck.
‘Argumentos 2: em convergência’ is the second volume of the diptych in which Alexandre Alves Costa set out to cover almost five decades of writing on the most diverse subjects, although always from the perspective of a man whose sole aim was to be an architect.
In this second volume, the author has brought together more recent and some unpublished texts. He shares memories, convictions, friendships and commitments, and now reveals a closer approach to critical analysis and the disciplinary practice of architecture, making room for ‘an experience of communicating unbuilt projects’ and even leaving room for other voices: Maria Manuel Oliveira, Camilo Cortesão, Fernando Távora, Eduardo Souto de Moura.
