7th The Thinking Hand Didactic Workshop "The Last Supper"

On Tuesday 25 February, the 7th The Thinking Hand Didactic Workshop “The Last Supper” will be held at FAUP's Carlos Ramos Pavilion between 9am and 1pm.
The Thinking Hand Didactic Workshop combines the perspectives (and works of the same name, from 1914 and 2009 respectively) of British pedagogue James G. Legge and Finnish architect Juhani Pallasmaa. As in the previous six editions, this event will bring together twenty-four pre-school children and twelve final-year students from the Integrated Masters in Architecture for a morning of joint work. As part of DiPDArq's research-teaching axis, this morning of work will take place under the guidance of professors Assucena Maria Miranda, Ana Isabel Costa e Silva, Rui Américo Cardoso, Telmo Castro and Luís S. Viegas, at the crossroads of the thinking hand perspectives mentioned above. This 7th edition of the event, as a creative and sharing activity between the Pre-school of Frejufe Primary School of the Levante da Maia Group and FAUP, aims to realise a physical model (maquette) representing Leonardo Da Vinci's ‘The Last Supper’ (1495-1498). As in the previous edition, this year's event is stimulated by the theme ‘The Day the Earth Screamed for Mother’ (especially evoking environmental issues, nature, animals and affection) and qualified by the development of various activities in the Kindergarten, under the special guidance of teacher Assucena Maria Miranda.
