As a tribute, FAUP invites all those who shared moments of friendship, professional and/or academic collaboration with Nuno Portas, as well as those who recognize the importance of his contribution to the construction of a democratic Portugal and to critical thinking in architecture and urbanism, to send personal testimonials about his life and legacy. Reflections, memories, and moments that reveal his work and help document his journey as a thinker and humanist.

Contributions—text, images, drawings, or other—can be submitted in any format, on an A4 page, and sent to the email address tributonunoportas@arq.up.pt.

FAUP created the Nuno Portas Conferences as a way of honoring the legacy of Nuno Portas (1934-2025) — professor, architect, urban planner, researcher, critic, politician, and an essential figure in urban and architectural thought in Portugal, who left a profound mark on academia, practice, and politics in the region.

The first edition was held on September 23, 2025, as a tribute to his work and thinking.
