CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR 1 (ONE) RESEARCH GRANT (BI) UNDER THE PROJECT ‘HABIT:AÇÃO - TERRITORIAL IDENTIFICATION OF SOCIAL VULNERABILITY AND UNWORTHY HOUSING’ BEING CARRIED OUT AT THE FACULTY OF LETTERS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO
This is an open call for applications for 1 (one) Research Grant (BI) to carry out R&D activities, within the scope of the contract signed between the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP) and the Competence Centre for Planning, Policies and Foresight of the Public Administration (PlanAPP), as part of the project ‘Habit:AÇÃO - Territorial identification of social vulnerability and unworthy housing’, underway at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto under the following conditions:
1. Scientific Area:
Arts; Social Sciences; Humanities or related areas.
2. Admission requirements:
All individuals of legal age who fulfil all three requirements, with documentary evidence, can apply for this scholarship:
Requirements 1:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree1 in Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Architecture, Art, Design and Photography;
Requirement 2:
- Multidisciplinary professional experience in the fields of Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Architecture, Art, Design and Photography;
Requirement 3
a) To be a student enrolled in a master's programme in the fields of Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Architecture, Art, Design and Photography, a requirement to be proven upon recruitment.
or
b) Be a student enrolled on a doctoral programme in the field of Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Architecture, Art, Design and Photography, a requirement to be proven upon recruitment.
or
c) Be enrolled in a non-degree programme at a higher education institution.
3. Preferred conditions:
The aim of this grant is to recruit a candidate who brings together skills linked to the territorial study of social vulnerability and unworthy housing, using photography as a research tool and technological development linked to infographics. The aim is for the candidate to be able to generate research autonomously under the guidance of the coordinator:
a) Knowledge of photography, with experience in conceiving documentary/artistic projects related to architecture, the city and the territory;
b) Ability to process and organise visual data, with a particular focus on using photography as a research tool;
c) Ability to research, consult and organise visual databases, produce bibliographic summaries and write scientific papers;
d) Ability to carry out cultural production tasks, and experience in organising scientific events and meetings (seminars, conferences, workshops);
e) Solid knowledge and a significant CV in photography and infographics;
f) Solid knowledge of image manipulation software - Adobe Photoshop, In design, Illustrator, and similar;
g) Familiarity with premier or short cut video editing programmes;
h) Proficiency in oral and written English;
i) Significant interest and CV in editorial work related to Architecture, Art and/or Humanities;
j) Willingness and ability to generate research autonomously under guidance.
