A call for applications is open until September 13, 2024, for a research grant for a student enrolled in a master's degree program, to carry out R&D activities in the scientific area of Architecture. The grant is part of the project 'LOGO - The local governance of housing policies. An investigation of local housing strategies', funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., reference no. 2022.03719.PTDC.

In view of the recent discussions and decisions on housing in Portugal, the project in which the grant is based aims to deepen the debate on housing policies and the analysis of public policies, carry out a first global assessment of the dissemination of municipal housing plans (ELH and CMH) in Portugal and promote an integrated and participatory approach to housing governance through a series of initiatives aimed at the political community.

The tasks to be carried out by the grantee include carrying out the PhD Thesis in conjunction with the project; collaborating in the analysis of Local Housing Strategies and Municipal Housing Charters, processing data on the implementation and operation of these tools, deepening the case studies, contributing to the compilation of data, producing scientific results, writing scientific texts associated with the project and promoting scientific dissemination and dissemination actions.

The main tasks to be carried out as part of the grant will be:

a. collaborate in the task of analyzing Local Housing Strategies and Municipal Housing Charters;
b. contribute to the analysis and processing of data relating to the implementation and operationalization of these tools;
c. collaborate in the in-depth study of case studies, namely in the processing of statistical data, the production of cartography, interviews and focus groups, among other research actions;
d. contribute to the compilation of data, the production of scientific results, the writing of scientific texts associated with the project;
e. and collaborate in the organization of scientific events, in the promotion of scientific dissemination and dissemination actions.

The work will be carried out at FAUP or at other locations necessary to carry out the work plan, under the scientific guidance of Ana Silva Fernandes and Aitor Varea Oro, researchers.

The competition is open to architecture graduates enrolled in an Integrated Master's Degree in Architecture.
