Ana Manuela Tarrafa Pereira da Silva

Ana Tarrafa Silva holds a first degree in Cultural Heritage by Algarve University, and a master in Urban and Spatial Planning by Instituto Superior Técnico – Lisbon University (Portugal). Presently is a Ph.D. candidate in the Chair of Heritage and Values, Faculty of Architectural Engineering and Technology of Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). She is an integrated member of Centro de Estudos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto (CEAU-FAUP) and a Ph.D. scholarship holder from Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia. Current doctoral research aims to understand how spatial planning policies have been addressing heritage conservation, having the Portuguese planning landscape as the case-study. Past experience range from the collaboration with several international institutions (TU Eindhoven, Inter-American Development Bank) and national, such as the UNESCO Portuguese Commission and the CEAU-FAUP, namely about the implementation of 2011 UNESCO Recommendation on Historic Urban Landscapes. Her published work is growing and entails more than a dozen scientific publications, from book chapters, conference papers, and articles in specialized magazines.
