'Mies van der Rohe and the Verseidag buildings . Building history and preservation' por Norbert Hanenberg Conference

On Thursday 13 February 2025, at 6.30pm, FAUP will host a conference with Professor Norbert Hanenberg, from the University of Applied Sciences in Mittelhessen (THM). The lecture, entitled ‘Mies van der Rohe and the Verseidag buildings: Building history and preservation’, will address the history and preservation of the Verseidag factory building complex, the only factory the German architect designed and considered his last major European project, from the perspective of architecture, conservation and maintenance challenges.
Since 2016, Norbert Hanenberg has been Professor of Design and Construction at the University of Applied Sciences in Mittelhessen (THM). Since 2017, he has also been responsible for HANENBERG Projekt GmbH in Aachen. Between 2015 and 2016, he was i.V. Professor of Building Construction at the Ostwestfalen Lippe University of Applied Sciences (OWL). From 2013 to 2015, he taught at RWTH Aachen University, and since 2013 he has been part of the BDA Aachen. Between 2005 and 2014, he was head of hanenberg & huhs architects in Aachen and Vienna. Since 2002, he has been developing research projects around Mies van der Rohe and Eduard Pfeiffer, with work that includes exhibitions, conferences and publications. From 2001 to 2013, he was a research assistant in building construction and design at RWTH Aachen University. Since 1998, he has had project partnerships with Thomas Lenzen in Munich, Prof Luc Merx / gagat international in Aachen, Prof Dr Joaquin Medina in Aachen, Hausmann Architekten GmbH in Aachen and Wimmer Architekten in Aachen.
